“I am safe. I am perfectly fine. The incident happened at the security check-in. The female guard bided her time till I crossed. Then she struck me from the side. She started throwing expletives. I asked why she hit me. She stated, “I support farmers.” She emphasized that she is not in danger but expressed concern about the rise in terrorism in Punjab.

The CISF officers voiced their disappointment with Ms. Ranaut for the “Rs 100” remarks made during the farmers’ demonstration. Ms. Ranaut is a performer turned MP. “The farmers have been waiting for ₹ 100, according to her comment. Is she going to go sit there? When my mother made this testimony, she was sitting there protesting,” the officer said.

In December 2020, Ms. Ranaut posted about seeing an elderly woman who, she claimed, was “available for ₹ 100,” suggesting that someone could hire her to attend protests.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, had demanded that Ms. Ranaut offer an “unconditional apology” within a week.
