Here’s what we currently know about those involved in the case:.

Sanjeev Mukhiy

Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Nalanda, leads the “solver gang”. Across multiple states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, according to police reports. Baldev Kumar

Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand

Ehsanul Haque and Imtiaz Alam

On June 28, the CBI arrested Ehsanul Haque, the principal of Oasis School in Jharkhand, and his vice principal, Imtiaz Alam. Additionally, the National Testing Agency (NTA) appointed Imtiaz Alam as the Hazaribagh district coordinator for NEET-UG Investigators suspect that the leak originated from their school.

Mohd Jamaludin

The CBI detained Mohd Jamaludin, a journalist from Hazaribagh, on June 29, accusing him of aiding the vice-principal and principal of Oasis School in Jharkhand. The CBI apprehended Jamaludin, who works for a prominent Hindi newspaper, after obtaining critical technical evidence against him.

Purshottam Sharma

Purshottam Sharma, the principal of Jay Jalaram School in Godhra, Gujarat, was arrested on May 21. He acted as the exam superintendent for the May 5 NEET test conducted at the school. Charges allege that he planned to help several applicants cheat with assistance from another school instructor. They filled in the blanks on the OMR papers before the sheets were sealed.

Tushar Bhatt

On May 12, authorities arrested geography teacher Tushar Bhatt, accusing him of colluding with Purshottam to manipulate OMR sheets submitted by students after the exam. Tushar is also alleged to have coordinated with two others to compile a final list of students with whom they had made agreements.

The inspection squad of the DEO intercepted him on the examination day, May 5, and found him in possession of two mobile phones containing WhatsApp chats detailing the ‘final list’ of 16 out of 30 candidates involved in the cheating scheme

Arif Vohra

Names Behind The NEET Paper Leak: Authorities arrested Arif Vohra, a former martial arts teacher at the school and acquaintance of Tushar, on May 12.

Hailing from Godhra, Arif maintained contact with NEET-UG aspirants based in Gujarat, some of whom are currently under CBI scrutiny. Arif stands accused of providing Rs 7 lakh to Tushar, an amount seized during the raid on May 5, 2024.

Parshuram Roy

Parshuram Roy, the owner of Vadodara-based education immigration company Roy Overseas, reportedly knew Tushar. They were allegedly in communication to finalize the list of students from outside Gujarat who had selected the school as their NEET center.

Parshuram stands accused of advising students from Jharkhand, Odisha, Karnataka, and other states to select Godhra as their center, citing Tushar’s influence in potentially tampering with OMR answer sheets before sealing. Authorities arrested Parshuram along with 18 others in connection with the leak of the 2023 Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board junior clerk exam paper.

Vibhor Anand Umeshwar Prasad Singh

The education consultant Vibhor Anand Umeshwar Prasad Singh was taken into custody on May 20. He closely collaborated with Parshuram and faced accusations of contacting him. The parents of NEET-UG aspirants in Jharkhand and Odisha to finalize arrangementsVibhor was part of a network of education agents who directed students to ‘appropriate’ agents for immigration-related services. His involvement has also raised questions about the names behind the NEET paper leak.
